Deep freeze fruits and vegetables with energy efficient equipment

The client is an SME company specializing in production, storage and export of frozen fruit. The company has been on the market since 1994, and is located in the environmentally clean region, obtaining its raw materials from the surrounding villages and forests.

To increase its product quality and reduce the energy consumption, the company decided to modernise its production line.

The final project included replacement of the cooling system.

The company approached PolSEFF for an affordable financing and technical advice on this investment.

The PolSEFF team performed the analysis of the proposed technology, its potential for energy savings, financial-technical parameters and profitability of the project.

The investment of PLN 162,954 allowed the company to reduce its energy consumption by 21 MWh per year, resulting in the cost savings of approximately PLN 11,598 per year. The investment will be repaid from energy savings in just one year. In addition, the company reduced its CO2 emissions by 20 tonnes per year, making its input to mitigation of the negative effect of human activity on climate.

This project improved the company’s processes, financial standing and competitiveness on the market. It demonstrates that energy savings are possible in all types of sectors and production.
