Investments in new energy efficient vehicles

Established in 2000, the company is one of the leading steel distributors in Poland, supplying over 1500 products from its central warehouse with the total area of 10,000 square meters.

To reduce the energy consumption and modernise the process, the company decided to replace its old forklift from 2000. In addition, the old forklift did not meet the EU regulations on emissions level.

The company addressed PolSEFF for financing of this measure.

The PolSEFF team performed the analysis of the proposed technology, its potential of energy savings, financial-technical parameters and profitability.

The €36,500 investment allowed the company to increase the production capacity and reduce its energy consumption by 52 per cent, which is nearly €2,000 per year. The energy savings can be seen as additional income and will be observed immediately, lasting for years.

This project demonstrates that replacement of standard vehicles generates energy savings in addition to other benefits. It means it is worth checking the energy saving potential of such measures, to see if attractiveness and profitability of the investment can be increased.
